PCU's commitment
PCU's commitment as a Green Campus, reflecting a cultural mandate from God's Word to preserve the earth and its environment, is implemented through three policy areas: academic, administrative, and operational.
In the academic area:
- Programs related to environmental conservation are enhanced in each study program to raise student awareness and concern as future generations and leaders.
- Environmental issues are integrated into lecture materials and elective courses on the environment are offered.
In the administrative area:
- Awareness among all employees (lecturers and educational personnel) regarding environmental preservation is increased.
- Measures are taken to prevent damage and improve environmental maintenance on the Petra Christian University campus.
- Programs are created to promote environmental care, aiming to change lifestyle habits to foster love for the environment.
In the operational area:
- Each academic unit (UA) and supporting unit (UP) must select and implement several environmental aspect in their annual activity program that supports five efficiencies: paper, land, waste, energy, and water efficiency. Every campus member is encouraged to reduce electricity consumption, water usage, private car usage, and paper consumption both individually and collectively.
